Top Threads 🤩
Taking a look at our top five threads for August and see what has been popular:
What is Threads
OneSub Threads is where you can share articles or tweets to OneSub, add them to your own thread and highlight sections by quoting the important points. Think of it as micro-blogging, a place to collect your thoughts with article links and citations to back up your view.
Top 5 🤩
- The land of the fleeced by Jim
- The Apple & Google App store Cartel by Jim
- The End of Cash by Glenn Smith
- A look at Climate change issues by Nina
- Facebook will not Fact check the Climate Crisis by Phil Sturgeon
Range of topics in the top five, include the American health system, Climate change issues, and the end of the line for cash:
Kicking off with a Thread from our founder Jim: “🇺🇸 The Land of the Fleeced” takes a look at a few examples where Americans are exploited including the American medical system which is just dividing the gap between rich and poor, creating an environment where most forego treatment due to the expense.
“The Apple and Google App Store Cartel” where Jim takes a look at the Apple & Google versus Fortnite spat and seeing how it unfolds.
Number three is “The end of cash” 😱 by Glenn Smith. Cash has been around for about 40,000 years but has the pandemic caused the use of cash to become extinct? With Coronavirus spreading through touch, we all have become used to social distancing and using contactless as the main means of paying for goods. But has the pandemic accelerated the demise of cash, or was it an inevitable ending?
Number four is “A look at climate change issues” something that has been in and out of the press this year. An issue that we need to address not only as a nation but as a world, but also shows an article from UnHerd which puts the numbers into perspective.
Number five is from Phil Sturgeon on “Facebook will not Fact Check Climate Crisis” questions the integrity of Facebook’s fact-checking process and highlights a few good examples.
Why we Love Threads
Enjoy exploring Threads and sign up to create some of your own, to keep track of articles and themes that interest you.
One issue I do get frustrated with regarding the news, is reading a story that interests you but not getting any follow-up as something more important crops up and fills the headlines. We are hoping that Threads will be a way for you to capture those important articles and pull them into one place so your followers can understand the whole story as it unfolds.
