How we got here
The Falconio case began in July 2001 when Falconio and Joanne Lees were attacked near Barrow Creek, Northern Territory. Murdoch was convicted in 2005 but died in jail in 2025 without revealing Falconio’s final resting place. Northern Territory police reopened the case and released previously unseen photographs to spur new tips.
