Norwegian extremist, perpetrator of the 2011 attacks
An 18-year-old suspect armed with a sword has attacked Brinell School in Fagersta, northwest of Stockholm. One student has died and several others, including two under 18, are injured. The suspect has been detained and police are treating the incident as murder and attempted murder. Prime Minister and other leaders have visited the scene as nearby schools are placed on lockdown.
An 18-year-old man has been arrested over a sword attack at Brinell High School in Fagersta, central Sweden. Three others are injured, two seriously. Police are investigating online communities for possible influence; authorities are coordinating with national leaders who are visiting the scene as Sweden’s general election approaches on Sept. 13.
King Harald V has died at Oslo University Hospital at 06:35 on Friday, Aug. 28, aged 89. Crown Prince Haakon has become King Haakon VIII and will take the oath before parliament on Tuesday. Norway has declared national mourning; tens of thousands have left tributes at the royal palace and a funeral date is set for Sept. 9.
