Fenway Sports Group has received an approach from a consortium led by Amit Bhatia that has offered to buy a strategic minority stake in Liverpool. Reports have said Jeff Bezos has held talks about joining the group and the bid would value the club at roughly a34.5bn-a36bn; talks are at an early stage.
Fenway Sports Group has sold roughly 30–33% of Liverpool Football Club to 1892 Holdings, a consortium led by Amit Bhatia that includes Jeff Bezos (via K5 Sports), Eduardo Saverinand the Mittal family. FSG has retained majority ownership and operational control; Bhatia will become vice chairman and two consortium representatives will join the board. Regulatory approval is pending.
