The Women’s Pro Baseball League has launched its inaugural season with four teams—New York, Boston, Los Angeles and San Francisco—holding a seven-inning schedule at Robin Roberts Stadium in Springfield, Illinois. ESPN and the Scripps Sports Network will distribute games in the U.S., while players like Kelsie Whitmore and Ayami Sato headline the action. The league aims to become a lasting platform for women’s professional baseball.
