Pellitory, trained by David O’Meara and ridden by Danny Tudhope, has won the Ayr Gold Cup on heavy ground after a delayed schedule caused by overnight rain. The six-furlong handicap, worth £180,000, faced inspections before the race, with Pellitory proving best to beat Tuco Salamanca. The win marks Tudhope’s second Ayr Gold Cup success after Summerghand’s victory in 2022.
