Emergency crews responded after a B-52 Stratofortress crashed shortly after takeoff around 11:20 a.m. at Edwards Air Force Base in Kern County. A large fire burned on the runway as officials said the situation is ongoing and inbound flights are diverted. The base, north of Los Angeles, is home to their test and development operations.
