Beijing has announced a comprehensive tightening of drone rules, with a mid‑November possession ban taking effect. Authorities have designated the city’s area as restricted airspace after a fatal June crash. Previously, owners had to register drones under real names; the new regulations prohibit possession or storage of drones within Beijing limits and offer subsidies for buybacks, scrapping, or shipping drones out of the city.
