Canadian game developer under EA
BioWare has closed following a prolonged period of upheaval. EA has ended development on the next Mass Effect and is cutting around 400 jobs, including about 50 at BioWare, after finalizing a $55 billion private sale to a consortium led by Saudi Arabia’s PIF, Silver Lake, and Affinity Partners. The move follows mixed reception to the studio’s recent titles and signals a shift toward live services across EA.
