The Boston Symphony Orchestra's musicians have authorized a strike ahead of the expiration of their three-year contract, deepening tensions between the orchestra and management after the decision to terminate music director Andris Nelsons. An extension to the contract has been agreed while ratification proceeds. The season is set to begin on Sept. 17.
