Liechtenstein has changed its succession law from male primogeniture to absolute primogeniture. The move, approved by a two-thirds vote within the royal family, means the first-born child will be heir, regardless of gender. The change currently affects descendants of Alois and Sophie and does not immediately alter the top line of succession.
