The Conservatives have proposed cutting Universal Credit for those who have not paid enough national insurance, with six months at full rate followed by a 70% subsistence allowance loaded on a restricted card. The plan excludes those in work or with limited capability for work, and aims to save about £538 million a year, according to the party.
