A historical clash over fishing rights between Iceland and the United Kingdom
Icelanders have voted against resuming accession negotiations with the EU, with public broadcaster RUV reporting roughly 52.8% voting "no" and 47.2% voting "yes." Prime Minister Kristrún Frostadóttir has said she will respect the result. The campaign split the capital from rural areas and centred on control of fishing waters, inflation and security concerns after threats to Greenland.
