CrossFire is a Smilegate-developed online tactical shooter for Windows, released in Korea in 2007 and growing to a global esports staple.
A Seoul court has ordered Smilegate founder Kwon Hyuk-bin to transfer 35% of the company to his wife, Lee Hwa-jin, and pay 65 billion won in cash. The ruling values the stake at around 2.5 trillion won and follows a divorce proceeding that argues Lee contributed to the company through household support and early financing. Both sides can challenge the decision. The case doubles a prior divorce award record and raises questions about governance at Smilegate.
