Federal authorities have charged Luther Davis and CJ Evins with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and identity theft. Davis is accused of impersonating NFL players using disguises to secure nearly $20 million in fraudulent loans. They are scheduled to plead guilty on April 27.
The New York Jets have agreed to sign Tim Patrick, adding a veteran receiver to a group led by Garrett Wilson. Patrick, 32, brings 187 yards on 15 receptions from last season with the Jaguars and has prior familiarity with Jets GM Darren Mougey and coach Aaron Glenn. The move follows Patrick’s injury-plagued past, including ACL and Achilles injuries that sidelined him in recent seasons.
