The NHS has approved fampridine (Fampyra) to help some people with multiple sclerosis walk more easily. Up to 5,000 in England may benefit each year after trials showed improved walking speed and duration. Patients will undergo a 2–4 week trial, with continued use for those showing clear benefit; private costs previously limited access.
