A personalized mRNA vaccine given after melanoma surgery has reduced the risk of cancer returning by 42% over two years when added to standard Keytruda therapy. The vaccine targets tumor-specific mutations (neoantigens) and is tailored to each patient. Results come from a Phase 3 trial involving about 1,100 patients and are set to be published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
