Samsung’s annual mobile-launch event
ZDNet has reported that most people no longer need flagship levels of phone storage or RAM. For storage, 128GB or 256GB will suit most users who stream and use cloud backups; 64GB is now the bare minimum. For RAM, 8GB–12GB will cover most use cases while high-tier RAM is driving device price increases in 2026.
Samsung has expanded its foldable lineup with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Fold 8 Ultra, plus Z Flip 8. Prices have risen due to memory costs, with storage options up to 1TB. Trade-in incentives exist, but pre-order bonuses for storage upgrades have been scrapped. Deals vary by retailer and colorways.
