The Financial Conduct Authority has had parts of its motor finance compensation scheme suspended after four legal challenges. Lenders will not need to calculate or pay compensation, or notify customers they are owed money, while the Upper Tribunal hears challenges in December or February; a judgment will follow months later and payments are now likely to start in 2027 if the scheme survives.
The Trump administration has nominated Robert Hamilton to lead FEMA as its permanent administrator. The move has followed a Trump-appointed council report recommending sweeping reforms to FEMA that would shift more disaster responsibility to states and change how federal aid is triggered and delivered.
Three of the MH-60S Sea Hawk’s four crew members have been recovered and are in stable condition aboard the USS George H.W. Bush.
