Silencer rules rolled back. Giffords advocates for limits to gun access; co-founded by Gabby Giffords, former U.S. representative, survivor, and driving force behind the organization.
A Texas court ruling has struck down parts of the 1934 National Firearms Act, allowing some silencers and other firearms to be bought and transferred without the usual federal registration or background checks. The decision is not a nationwide injunction, and the government has not yet appealed. Gun Owners of America says members are beginning transfers, while supporters call it the greatest Second Amendment win.
