Fortifications spanning dynasties, a UNESCO World Heritage site
UNESCO has inscribed Mount Olympus as a mixed cultural and natural World Heritage Site after a 12-year campaign by Greece. The site joins other inscriptions including the Normandy beaches and Japan’s Asuka-Fujiwara sites, underscoring Greece’s commitment to preservation amid rising tourism.
