Antarctic neutrino detector exploring the cosmos with a kilometer-scale ice array
The Royal Swedish Academy has awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics to Francis Halzen for pioneering the IceCube Neutrino Observatory, which detects high-energy neutrinos in Antarctic ice. Halzen has expressed surprise at the award, and the prize underscores a landmark achievement in neutrino astronomy and our understanding of the cosmos.
