Apple’s line of tablets running iPadOS
Microsoft and Apple have announced price increases for memory-intensive devices amid a broader industry-wide surge in memory and storage costs. Starting Aug. 1, Xbox Series S 512GB will be $100 higher, 1TB will be $150 higher, and a 2TB model will be discontinued. Apple is also raising prices on laptops and tablets, citing unprecedented chip demand for AI infrastructure.
Apple has raised prices on Mac and iPad models worldwide, increasing some MacBook and iPad prices by as much as 20–25%. The company has blamed a surge in memory and storage costs caused by the AI data-center buildout and said it can no longer shield customers from component price rises. iPhone prices remain unchanged for now.
