Hydrogen car set a land-speed record at Bonneville; Hydromax is the figure behind the push for hydrogen power in high-performance transport.
British driver Andy Green has driven the JCB Hydromax to a new hydrogen-engine land-speed record at Bonneville Salt Flats. The car uses two hydrogen internal-combustion engines and totalled 1,600 horsepower. The run sits below the jet-powered 1997 record but marks a milestone for hydrogen tech in heavy machinery and motorsports.
