Owner and operator of Kenya's civilian airports and airstrips
Kenya Aviation Workers Union has called off a strike following an agreement to resume negotiations with the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority. The deal remits agency fees owed to the union, sets a path for a new collective bargaining agreement, and addresses a long-running recognition dispute with Jambojet. The Salaries and Remuneration Commission has withdrawn its prior guidance, while the SRC parameters will be reconsidered in the talks. The pact preserves workers’ rights against victimisation and commits both sides to dispute resolution through established mechanisms. The nurses’ strike across counties remains contentious, with governors urging dialogue and sustainable funding to support re-engagement.
