Netflix has announced deals to add short-form video from publishers including BuzzFeed Studios, Condé Nast, Hearst, People, Tastemade and Penske Media brands. The licensed clips and ongoing short series will roll out August 3 in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, with runtimes from two to 20+ minutes.
Matthew Rhys has become the first actor to win two lead acting Emmys in a single night, taking honors for Widow’s Bay (comedy) and The Beast in Me (limited series). He also holds a previous lead drama win, making him the first man to win in all three lead acting categories. Apple TV+’s Widow’s Bay dominates the night with 14 wins.
Prime Video will stream the Emmys worldwide for free starting 2027, ending the rotating broadcast wheel that previously moved the ceremony among ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC. The six-year deal makes Prime Video the ceremony’s permanent home, with no Prime subscription required for viewers in more than 240 countries.
New York City Council is poised to approve a bill that would phase out horse-drawn carriage rides by 2028.
