Antarctic research station, US-operated on Ross Island
A civilian airliner has carried a medical evacuation from McMurdo Station in Antarctica to Christchurch, New Zealand, in conditions near the limits of aircraft capability, with temperatures around -43°C. The patient is reported to be in serious condition and is now receiving care in New Zealand.
