Mount Katahdin is Maine’s highest peak (5,269 ft), a sacred Penobscot landmark and a symbol of wilderness.
The Appalachian Trail has been completed by Grey Beard, who has reclaimed the record as the oldest person to finish the 2,193-mile route. He has fallen dozens of times, faced medical scares, and relied on trail angels and supporters along the way. He finished atop Maine’s highest peak, praying with gratitude for the journey and those who helped him.
