Head of Allied Command Operations (ACO) for NATO
NATO has presented a three-step operational framework — "block, blunt and break" — at the Warsaw Security Forum. General Alexus Grynkewich has said the plan will stop an invasion at the border, then halt advancing forces with precision strikes and finally degrade an attacker’s supply and command networks. Allies are warning of rising Russian "hybrid" activity while Moscow denies plans to attack Europe.
Counter-terror police have arrested two Latvian nationals after military police found an abandoned vehicle and a small breach in the perimeter fence at RAF Molesworth early on 8 October. The men have been bailed with strict conditions while officers search two Peterborough addresses and continue to investigate possible motives. Authorities say there is nothing so far linking the arrests to the recent incident at RAF Fairford.
