Typhoon Dolphin has tracked west from the Pacific toward Okinawa and Kyushu with sustained winds near 144–162 km/h, forcing Naha Airport to close and cancelling flights. Evacuation centres are hosting hundreds; authorities are warning of heavy rain, storm surge and gusts that will threaten damaged homes and infrastructure as the storm heads toward China’s eastern coast.
