Italian authorities have expanded security measures as protests in Milan, Rome and other cities intensify. Authorities have deployed thousands of police and 500 additional troops to Milan, with drone surveillance, railway checks and online monitoring. The demonstrations, driven by student groups and anti-war coalitions, have sparked looting and clashes; Albania also sees continued protests.
