A short-range ballistic missile under US Army development to replace MGM-140 ATACMS
The U.S. Army has demonstrated a maritime variant of a portable jam system that disrupts positioning, navigation and timing signals to blindingly accuracy of long-range weapons. The test off the West Coast shows the system can be deployed, operated and recovered in real-world maritime environments, with a secure communications network to keep friendly forces connected.
The US has ongoing shortages of long‑range missiles and interceptors amid the Iran war. Authorities are replenishing stockpiles, ramping up production, and monitoring ally readiness as munitions levels remain stressed. Multiple outlets report depleted Patriot and THAAD interceptors and widespread use of ATACMS, PrSM, Tomahawks, and other missiles.
An independent UN fact‑finding mission has concluded there are reasonable grounds to believe US forces carried out two February strikes in Iran — on a primary school in Minab and a sports complex in Lamerd — that amounted to indiscriminate attacks and therefore constituted war crimes. The mission has also found Iran committed crimes against humanity during nationwide protests.
