Russia’s state space body steering launches, missions and orbital infrastructure
NASA has directed Crew-12 members to assume a Safe Haven posture in the SpaceX Crew Dragon while Roscosmos conducts an extended repair on persistent air leaks in the Zvezda module. The operation follows earlier leaks that have troubled the aging station since 2019, with assessments focusing on microscopic cracks and corrosion. Crews are returning to normal operations after measurements are completed.
Over the past days, Ukrainian and Russian forces have exchanged drone and missile strikes. Belgorod reports casualties and infrastructure damage while Ukraine says it targeted strategic facilities in Russia. The conflict is escalating with reports of civilian casualties on both sides.
The Soyuz MS-29 crew has launched from Baikonur and has entered orbit. They will join a multinational team on the International Space Station for an eight-month stay, with docking planned this evening and arrival back on Earth in 2027.
