A 20-year-old Cagliari forward, Yael Trepy, has been hospitalised in Sassari after a pool incident in northern Sardinia. The club says Trepy is in intensive care and asks for privacy while it monitors his condition. He scored once in eight Serie A appearances last season and joined Cagliari’s academy in 2022.
A 31-year-old cave explorer has been rescued after being trapped for nearly 27 hours in Gorropeddu cave near Codrongianos, Sardinia. Rescue teams removed debris by hand and stabilized him before airlifting him to hospital. His partner escaped unharmed as a rock collapse blocked the entrance on Oct. 11; he has no fractures but sustained blunt trauma to a leg and is under intensive care.
