Russian goaltender; two-time Vezina winner; Panthers to Maple Leafs in 2024-26
The Maple Leafs have signed Sergei Bobrovsky to a three-year, $21 million contract, moving him from Florida where he helped the Panthers reach multiple finals. Florida has traded for Jacob Markstrom and Akira Schmid to bolster their crease, setting up a new goaltending tandem.
Norris Trophy winner Zach Werenski has reaffirmed his commitment to the Columbus Blue Jackets after a proposed trade to Dallas did not materialize. General manager Don Waddell says discussions with Werenski and his family were resolved, and the star defenseman intends to stay in Columbus to help push the team back into the playoffs this season.
