A short, spring-fed Florida river in Marion County
A Florida woman was bitten by an alligator while swimming in the Silver River near Ocala. A nearby boater stabilized her arm with a rope and helped others reach safety. The alligator was captured, and the river reopened the same day. The victim survived, though she lost her right arm.
