National governing body for football in South Africa; CAF member; FIFA affiliate since 1992
Danny Jordaan has secured a fourth term as South African Football Association president after defeating Sandile Zungu by 157 votes to 82. The election comes amid past controversies, including results from the 2010 World Cup bid process and a 2024 fraud case. Supporters argue Jordaan’s governance and regional backing will sustain South Africa’s national teams, while opponents push for governance reforms. The voting process faced threats and intimidation claims.
