Scottish football figure, coach and former player
Scotland Under-21s have defeated Azerbaijan in Rugby Park, delivering a commanding performance under new head coach Tony Docherty. Findlay Curtis and Tyler Fletcher starred, contributing four assists and goals as Docherty’s side mirrors the senior team’s 3-4-2-1 system debuting Pocognoli’s approach.
The Scottish FA has appointed Tony Docherty as Under-21 head coach with Steven Naismith as his assistant. The move aligns the youth pathway with the senior team as Sebastien Pocognoli takes charge of the senior squad. The pair will lead the Under-21s initially, with plans to rotate coaches across age groups and support club growth and Talent ID initiatives.
