Flemish Baroque artist who rose to England’s leading court painter after success in the Low Countries and Italy.
Artwork by Renoir, Cézanne and Matisse were recovered after a March robbery at Magnani Rocca Foundation near Parma. The three paintings—Renoir’s Fish, Cézanne’s Still Life with Cherries, and Matisse’s Odalisque on the Terrace—are valued in the low to mid millions. Police say the works were found during prosecutor-ordered searches; investigation ongoing.
