Sergei Bobrovsky has signed a three-year, $21 million contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs after leaving the Florida Panthers. Florida has traded for Jacob Markstrom and Akira Schmid, reshaping both teams’ goaltending. The Panthers have also moved Brendan Gallagher to Montreal as part of broader reshuffles.
The goalkeeper has publicly confirmed a trade request, saying it is in the best interests of his family as training camp nears. He has spent his NHL career with the Jets and was MVP in 2024-25. The teams have yet to finalize a resolution.
