Arthur Fery’s US Open campaign ends in a first-round defeat after a strong Wimbledon breakthrough. Musetti advances, setting up a second-round clash with Sweeny as British hopes shift to the North American hard-court season.
Sabalenka has expressed concern over the smell of cannabis drifting onto Louis Armstrong Stadium during her third‑round win at the US Open. She has called for greater awareness around the stadium area as players continue their campaigns for a third consecutive title. Other top players are also advancing, with Alcaraz and Medvedev confirming progress to the fourth round.
British No. 1 Fery has fallen in the US Open first round to Lorenzo Musetti in straight sets, 6-3 6-3 7-5. The defeat follows his Wimbledon semifinal run and Winston-Salem final, with Musetti proving too strong on Grandstand. Fery is now focusing on recovery and future tournaments.
