A 21-year-old from Dexter, Michigan has earned the USA’s first-ever berth for a woman in welding at the WorldSkills Competition in China. She trained at Washtenaw Community College, where she practices up to 80 hours a week and is coached by Alex Pazkowski. The competition runs September 22–27, with judges evaluating technical execution and craftsmanship under strict standards.
