Atletico Madrid announced that Apollo Sports Capital will become the club’s majority shareholder early next year. The deal aims to strengthen the club’s financial and sporting position, with key executives remaining in place. The investment supports long-term growth, infrastructure projects, and Atletico’s ambitions among Europe’s elite.
The deal follows Atletico Madrid’s recent performances under coach Diego Simeone, including a fourth-place league position and historic Champions League runs. Apollo Sports Capital has previously invested in tennis tournaments and plans further investments in the club’s infrastructure and teams, including developing a sports and entertainment district near the Metropolitano stadium.
