An avalanche has struck a 10-person expedition on Broad Peak in Pakistan's Karakoram, and Pakistani authorities and expedition organisers have confirmed multiple deaths. Rescue teams have recovered at least three bodies and identified them, while search operations are being hampered by harsh weather and difficult terrain. The expedition included nationals from Nepal, the US, Oman, Pakistan and China and was led by Nirmal Purja.
